Dear Paid Subscriber,
Thank you, first of all, for continuing to support this newsletter. Your patronage is deeply appreciated on an ongoing basis. Because it is so valued, however, a bit of a reckoning is in order. This newsletter was started with plans to last through the end of the summer in 2021. Since that Summer, it has seen new content “whenever.” I have decided this is unfair on paying subscribers, especially ones who signed up on a month-to-month basis.
So: Work on new content for this newsletter is ongoing. I have several things in progress that I will be very excited to share with you when the time comes. However, I’m not sure when that time will be. Furthermore, I am about to go on a vacation on which I almost certainly won’t be posting anything (though I plan to do some writing). In light of all this, I have decided to use an option in the Substack settings I should’ve already used some time ago — the option to put paying subscriptions on hold. What this means is that whatever time you have left on your subscription, whether a few days as a monthly subscriber or a few months as an annual subscriber, will now remain indefinitely. From now on you will not be paying for any time that the newsletter is on hiatus.
Whenever the next series of posts is ready — and that is the plan, to have a few in the chute ready to go at once — I will resume your subscription timers. If, when that series of posts is complete and I do not have anything more to publish, I will re-pause the blog, and so on! This way, you don’t waste money, I feel less guilty taking more time and going on vacation, and the menhirs are eventually glorious, the perfect size and shape for smashing Romans.
Thanks so much again for your continued support,
Tzvi
