Dear Reader,
It’s been a while! I hope you’ve been well. I have been and am hard at work preparing a new series of essays for this newsletter.
When I started writing on Substack, I intended to publish a single “season” of content over a Summer. I am excited to inform you that a second season of posts is coming - a Stupendous Substack Spring, if you will. The plan is to send you the first post on February 22nd and then continue for ~4 months with a weekly essay. Three-quarters of the new posts will be for paid subscribers only, in addition to their usual ability to access the entire archive. Paid subscriptions are paused until February 15th, when their countdown will begin to run again.
I am not ready to share a comprehensive breakdown or list of titles, but I will say that it is a significant amount of writing (a short book’s worth, I’d say) and most of it is thematically related. Just as the first “season” here loosely “built” on itself (because this is a natural way that thinking and writing progress over time) and dealt with what we might loosely call “idolatry,” the second season will also be a progression. It will generally concern the self/other distinction in Jewish mysticism. I hope I can interest you in this topic that has become an intellectual obsession for me, and can’t wait to share these ideas with you.
So please dust off your reading glasses, move these emails out of the spam folder, and watch this space for more information, including a rough schedule and table of contents for the entire season, which will G-d-willing be released before the season starts.
Yours,
Tzvi
